Stunning Remote Scottish Highland cottage in beautiful isolated glen - a perfect retreat for relaxing, walking, fishing and wildlife. Sleeps 8/10.

£700 - £1200

A unique experience of isolation and luxury! This remote Victorian hunting lodge was originally designed for Victorian gentlemen and their servants to lodge whilst stalking on the remote hills of the Estate. Set in the atmospheric Glenuaig, valley of red deer and eagles, it is about one hour's drive due west of Inverness, followed by 30 minutes drive on a track (4x4 or hire of one essential) into the mountains, away from all civilization. In few places on earth will you feel so at peace with the natural world.

The unassuming stone exterior blends in with the surrounding Munros, but hides a stunning interior beautifully designed to be in sympathy with its origins and location - and fully equipped for total comfort. With its own micro-hydro electricity, it has 3 reception rooms, fabulous kitchen with dishwasher etc., bathroom, shower-room, separate wc and 4 twin/double bedrooms; the second sitting room can be used as a further double bedroom if required.

Glenuaig Lodge is surrounded by Munros and Corbetts for the hill walkers, a six mile gentle valley for the less energetic, wildlife for the naturalists, and there is a Site of Special Scientific Interest to the South. The drive or gentle walk in has fabulous views across the Torridon Mountains. The Estate is about forty minutes from the West Coast and in an ideal central position for exploring the Highlands and tourist spots to all four sides. One well-behaved dog may be welcome by prior agreement.
