Entry is in the old part of the Chapel through a hallway, which leads to a fully fitted galley-style kitchen with a feature stained glass window. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, electric cooker, dish washer and washer/drier, together with most other standard kitchen appliances. The dining room, featuring some original tiling, is wood paneled on one side and patio doors open onto a small paved area with seating and barbecue. Loch View is the name that has been given to the part of Castle Sween Caravan Park that has been reserved for the caravans that are available to let. As the name suggests, you get a fantastic view of Loch Sween and can see right over the Isle of Danna to Loch Keils and the Sound of Jura with the ruins of Castle Sween in the foreground. At the same time Loch View is convenient to the shop and Rafters restaurant and bar, as well as the Reception and Office, that are centrally situated, and like all the rest of the holiday park nowhere is very far from the sea. You can rent a two or three bedroom caravan. All are very recent 12ft wide models, and provide an extraordinary degree of comfort. For those who have never stayed in a holiday caravan, a week at Castle Sween is just the place to try it out. They consist of a lounge with colour TV, dining area and kitchen/kitchenette with gas cooker, refrigerator and generous working area with lots of cupboard space. There is a bathroom with bath/shower,w.c. and a wash hand basin. As well as the wonderful scenery to enjoy, there is a wealth of other activities in the local area. The Lochgilphead Golf Club just half an hours' drive away is responsible for a very interesting nine hole course on the rolling hills just behind the town, and other golf courses within an easy drive include Tarbert, Oban, Inveraray and Machrihanish. On Ellary Estate it is possible to buy permits to fish the Lochead Burn (salmon & sea trout) as well as trout fishing in as many as 20 hill lochs. |

Plentiful stag and hind stalking with the Estate stalker is available in season. One hour's drive from Inverness; local shops are in the nearby village. Beaches and the West Coast to explore are forty minutes away. And the Highlands are all around - a paradise for walking, fishing and stalking or just exploring. |
