holiday gites normandy : Le Hameau Berryuer, St Lo          

This is the heart of Normandy with all it has to offer: fine sandy beaches can be found 45 minutes drive either north, east or west, the historic city of Bayeaux, Normandy landing beaches and Mont Saint-Michel are all within easy reach.  There is trout fishing, forests, country walks, many of which are signposted and an abundance of restaurants serving delicious French cuisine. If you are feeling energetic cycling is an excellent way of enjoying the beautiful countryside and traditional villages, the lanes are very quiet and mainly flat.  Two adult mountain bikes are based at the cottage for our guests to use. For antique hunters the local brocantes can also be very exciting.  We have left a large folder with details of places to visit, this is being added to all the time and our family and our visitors appreciate any further information being included.  

The region is famous for its cider and Calvados and the immediate area surrounding the cottage is home to  small farm holdings where the local produce may be sampled, (drive with caution as you will quite often come across a mother hen and her chicks strolling along the verge)!  The well-equipped village of St. Jean des Baisants with its boulangerie, bar-tabac-brasserie, butcher, bank, post office, doctor's surgery, pharmacie and general store is only 5 km away. The town of St Lo famous for its equestrian centre and stud farm with over 100 stallions is a distance of only 11kms away from the cottage. It also hosts a wonderful bustling market each Saturday where you will find home grown vegetables and farm produce along with general bric-a-brac, clothes and crafts. There are numerous shops, hypermarkets and restaurants in St Lo with cinemas, swimming pools, bowling, bars and clubs providing ample entertainment.

All prices are per week in GB Pounds for the whole cottage, Saturday to Saturday.  Arrivals from 4pm, departures by 11am.
