These Loire Valley gites are just outside the small village of Le Pin and near to the towns of Angers, Nantes and Rennes. The lovely beaches of La Baule are around one hour's drive away through beautiful coutryside. Placed just north of the Loire river, in North West France, we are surrounded by beautiful chateaux, historic sites and vineyards - with free tastings! Within an area of 20 miles are lakeside beaches, indoor & open air swimming pools, lakes for fishing, markets, walks, golf courses, museums, horseriding and much, much more! Le Pin has a mini market which sells fresh bread daily, along with most other needs. There are also two bars, a Post Office, a library and, like most small villages in France, a very large church.

The terrace of three gîtes are in a tastefully converted barn, which has been finished to a high standard, including original exposed beams. The smaller gite, Gite 1 sleeps up to 4 people, and comprises open plan lounge with double bed settee, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs there is a double bedroom and shower room with wash basin & toilet. Gites 2 & 3 each sleep up to 6 people - the ground floor comprises open plan lounge with double bed settee, dining area, equipped kitchen and separate shower room with toilet & wash basin. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - one double & one twin. Between gîtes 2 & 3 is the laundry with free washing machine, iron & ironing board. To the top end of the gites there is ½ acre of grassed area, with large trees for shade, a gazebo, garden furniture and barbeques. To the lower end is a gravelled terrace with seating & novelty planting. Behind the gîtes there is a gravelled area with seating, from which you can watch the beautiful sunsets.

La Mélinière is surrounded by beautiful, unspoilt countryside in the Loire Valley, just north of the River Loire. There are local Chateaux, magnificent churches and many grand old buildings for those who with an eye for classical architecture to visit and enjoy. Most towns are lively and colorful with outdoor markets at least once every week, where you can buy fresh local produce, immerse yourselves in the real sights and sounds of rural France and have a coffee at the pavement cafes. If you fancy a day on the beach, La Baule can easily be reached in just over and hour, or there is a man-made beach at a local reservoir about 30 minutes away with supervised bathing in high season.

Gite 1 (sleeps 6 people + 2-3 infants) has a large open plan area on the ground floor with lounge/diner and fully equipped kitchen with microwave, full oven, fridge and dishwasher. The lounge has widescreen TV (French channels only) and DVD player. There is also an open fireplace and central heating for winter lets. Upstairs are three bedrooms: two double bedrooms each with an extra single bed, (one bedroom has toilet & washbasin en-suite,) and a twin bedroom. There is an additional family shower room with washbasin and toilet.

Gite 2 (sleeps 2 people + 1 infant) has a large lounge/diner on the ground floor with double bed settee. The lounge has widescreen TV (French channels only) and DVD player, electric fire and central heating for winter lets. There is a fully equipped kitchen with full gas oven and hob. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, shower, washbasin and toilet room.

Domaine des Vignes is a little piece of heaven here on earth. Surrounded by acres of private woodland, and our own little vineyard it is the perfect base to explore the delights this diverse region has to offer, or simply relax and enjoy the gardens and Heated Swimming Pool. The endless kilometres of forest tracks are ideal for cycling, walking and spotting the wild boar, deer, or the many species of birds of prey. The famous chateaux of the Loire are just a short drive away, and the area has several excellent golf courses, fishing lakes and rivers perfect for all kinds of water sports. Saumur being the capital of equitation, there are plenty of places to go horse-riding, whatever your capabilities.

Our cottages have all been renovated, equipped and furnished to a very high standard. All have fitted kitchens with dishwasher, washing machine, hob, microwave/combi ovens and all the usual mod-cons we enjoy at home. All enjoy fta sat tv, dvd players and one even has Playstation 2! All are centrally heated making them ideal for winter lets too.

Anjou Cottage (sleeps 2) is the perfect retreat for couples looking for luxury and privacy, with its own private garden surrounded by box hedging over 150 years old. Chinon Cottage (sleeps 4) is perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples sharing, with 2 bedrooms, original beams throughout, and views across the courtyard and woodland. Bourgueil Cottage (sleeps up to 6) is an extremely spacious cottage with 2 large bedrooms (z beds could be added), and by using the sofa bed this house can comfortably sleep 6. Saumur Cottage (sleeps 10) is a bungalow style cottage with 5 bedrooms (3 dbl,2 twin) and its own large private garden next to the pool with a childrens play area.

Surrrounded by 20 acres of grassland (for our horses, which are available for specialist riding holidays or hourly rides), pretty gardens, several patios, a heated outdoor swimming pool and two lovely lakes, La Prairie dates from 1680 and is built in the local, creamy white Tuffeau Stone. In a lovely quiet spot, it is ideally located for visiting all the Chateaux and Vineyards of the Loire Valley - Amboise, Chenonceau, Tours, Chambord, Langeais, Azay Le Rideau etc are all easily accessible. There are 4 very good golf courses nearby, fresh-water fishing and many lakes to fish, horse-riding, sailing, flying at Saumur (light aircraft) and hunting in the forests.

The three gites (cottages) have been furnished and equipped to a very high standard - with Antiques from around France, exposed old oak beams and Tuffeau stone walls. Linen and bathroom towels are provided in the rates, and there will also be a welcome pack of supplies to greet you on your arrival and a sample of local wine!! For larger groups, all three gites can be rented together to sleep up to 18 people.

Glycine (sleeps 3) is a perfect small gite overlooking the swimming pool and horses fields beyond. Lavande (sleeps 5) is a very nicely presented cottage with a double bedroom and a triple room with 3 single beds. Gite Roseraie (sleeps 10) has a fully fitted kitchen/dining room, huge sitting room and three bedrooms - one double with ensuite and King Size bed, and two rooms with King Size bed and two single beds.
