Set in a large mature enclosed garden with trees, shrubs and lawns with its own splashpool, the farmhouse is situated in the village of Saleignes, surrounded by sunflowers, vineyards, forest and open countryside.  The property has been tastefully converted to include modern facilities, yet retain character features such as exposed beams and an open fire.  

 
The Gite

The living accommodation comprises:-

  • Lounge with exposed beams, open fireplace, Satellite TV, mosaic floor, scatter rugs, comfortable three seater settee and three seater leather chesterfield, with French doors leading out to picnic table and BBQ area.  

  • Well-equipped pine farmhouse style kitchen / dining room, with exposed beams, mosaic floor, large solid pine table with chairs, gas fired range cooker, fridge-freezer, washing machine and microwave.  
   

There are three bedrooms, all on the ground floor

  • Bedroom 1 with Antique French double four-poster bed;

  • Bedroom 2 with Rattan style double bed;

  • Bedroom 3 with King Size double bed and small single bed; a cot is available on request.  

  • Shower room with mosaic floor, large tiled shower, bidet, toilet and wash hand basin.  

 
   
Outside, the large shared mature enclosed garden is divided by trees and shrubs giving both sunny and shady relaxation areas, together with splashpool, BBQ and furniture.

Multi-fuel central heating is available for the winter months at no extra cost. A welcome bottle of wine awaits you on your arrival.

The Area The gite provides a relaxed setting, yet within easy reach of Futuroscope, Cognac, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Saintes, Ile d'Oleron, Limoges, La Palmyre Zoo and the beaches of Royan.  There are many excellent restaurants nearby with a good choice of menus and and inexpensive prices.  There is a small supermarket at Nere (4 miles) and larger shops at Aulnay and Chef Boutton (9 miles).  

Although there is no pool on site, there is one at Aulnay( 9 miles) or an Olympic size pool at St Jean D'Angely ( 19 miles) with flumes, jacuzzi, and saunas.

Fishing and golf are also available nearby.

We are about 230 miles from the ferry port of St Malo, and 350 miles from Cherbourg.
